Echometrix, LLC has appointed Dr. Kenneth S. Lee, M.D., M.B.A. to the role of Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Lee will maintain his current appointment as Director of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Lee graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and received both an M.D. and an M.B.A. in Health Administration from Tufts University School of Medicine’s Dual-Degree Program.
Dr. Lee will guide the clinical development and validation of Echometrix’s ultrasound application, Echosoft, for diagnosing and managing tendon and ligament injuries. “Ken has deep knowledge of musculoskeletal ultrasound and a proven track record of high-quality peer-reviewed studies. The Echometrix team is fortunate to gain someone with Ken’s combination of medical expertise and innovative drive,” said Jeff Dalsin, Echometrix CEO.
EchoSoft will dramatically improve the utility of standard ultrasound equipment by providing a more accurate assessment of connective tissue injuries at initial diagnosis and during rehabilitation. EchoSoft will make better treatment more available and affordable. A recent study shows that ultrasound could effectively substitute for MRI in 45% of initial diagnoses, potentially saving Medicare about $350 million annually.
“I have followed the developments of Echometrix and their recent progress for some time now and see the great potential this technology has to offer. I am delighted to join the team and help bring this much-needed technology to market,” said Dr. Lee.
